Malcolm X and Redd Foxx Washing Dishes at Jimmy’s Chicken Shack in Harlem By Jonathan Norton
Before they were icons, they were two young men washing dishes in Harlem. It’s 1943 and Foxy (soon to be Redd Foxx) befriends fellow dishwater Little, better known, many years later, as Malcolm X. Through a summer of heartbreak, uprisings, and leftovers, the two shape each other into the legends they are known to be through a revolutionary mix of humor and heart.

By Henrik Ibsen | A New Version by Amy Herzog
A “CRACKLING AND PERSUASIVE” POWER PLAY
Fresh from its Tony Award®-winning and headline-making Broadway run, Amy Herzog’s enthralling adaptation of Ibsen’s 1883 classic delivers a searing tale of truth versus corruption. When idealist Dr. Thomas Stockman uncovers life-threatening contamination at his town’s new spa, his fight to expose this ignites bitter battles between foes, friends, and family that shake the fragile community to its core. With echoes of our modern political and cultural landscape, this gripping environmentalist parable lays bare the price of integrity in a society where profit often outweighs justice. Hailed as “Crackling and persuasive” by The New York Times. -

Shrek The Musical
Stage 62
February 14-22, 2026
-
Music by Jeanine Tesori; Book and Lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire; Based on the DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and the book by William Steig
Everyone’s favorite ogre is back in this hilarious stage spectacle, based on the Oscar-winning, smash-hit film. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical TYA is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change) and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears.
“Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek…” And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude, and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek.
In this TYA adaptation by The Coterie, a shortened running time and minimized cast size make this the perfect show for audience members of all ages. -

When Ludwig’s wedding is stalled and all parsons are mysteriously summoned away, a wildly comic scheme unfolds involving sausage-roll signals, a bizarre “statutory duel” by playing cards, roulette, mistaken identities, and four would-be brides. Gilbert’s razor-sharp wit and Sullivan’s buoyant score drive the farce to a perfectly topsy-turvy conclusion.

10 Out of 12
Quantum Theatre
April 3 – 26, 2026
-
Written by Anne Washburn, directed by Andrew William Smith
“Ten minutes, everyone. Ten minutes!”
Step backstage — without leaving your seat. The title 10 Out of 12 refers to the number of hours the Actor’s Union allows for one very long day in the technical process of building a show. Accomplished playwright Anne Washburn catapults us into the world beyond the curtain, capturing the magical chaos of a tech rehearsal when lights, sound, and costumes collide with nerves (and personalities) in anticipation of opening night.
Always immersive Quantum takes it to a new level with innovative technology that allows the audience to eavesdrop on the backstage drama of creation. Each audience member will wear a headset, that one-earpiece staple of Stage Managers everywhere, so you, too, can hear the folks in the booth as well as the actors onstage. This combination makes for a rare insight into the rhythms, joys, and frustrations of making theatre.
Washburn’s clever comedy is an ultimately moving love letter to the theater and to the people who work to create the beautiful, funny, unexpected worlds that live on the stage. Director Andrew William Smith and Sound Designer Steve Shapiro navigate 10 Out of 12’s jaw-dropping complexity so you can enjoy the ride in the dazzlingly gorgeous Art Deco gem of an auditorium cozily nestled below ground level in the Mellon Institute on Fifth Avenue. -

Falstaff

Music by Giuseppe Verdi Libretto adapted by Arrigo Boito from the play The Merry Wives of Windsor and scenes from Henry IV, Part 1 and Part 2, by William Shakespeare
Beloved buffoon Sir John Falstaff has fallen on hard times. But being a ladies’ man (or so he’d like to think), he drunkenly schemes to cash in on his wit and charm by wooing the wealthy wives of Windsor, Alice Ford and Meg Page. However, when these women uncover that he has sent them both identical love letters, they hatch a plan of their own to teach Falstaff a lesson he won’t soon forget!
The music matches the merriment and mischief of this madcap romp. See why Verdi’s buoyant comedy, based on Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, is considered one of the best comedic operas of all time!
